Horse Training School/Horsemanship School

Natural Horsemanship? We know that carrying a rider is not natural to the horse nor was the horse made to do this, nor is it natural for the horse to find its leadership in humans. However, the use of the term Natural Horsemanship has become common lingo in the horse training world.  Along with the term Natural Horsemanship, there has seemed to be a trend toward Natural Horse Training Schools or Natural Horsemanship Schools that provide “cookbook” answers to horse training and horsemanship.  Natural Horsemanship Schools that use a cookbook for horse training and cookie cutter horse training techniques with recipe bound horse trainers just doesn’t work!   How do we know?  Simple, because both Ross Falisi and Dawn Falisi have tried it!  Much of the problem with learning these techniques is that people don’t know what to do when the wrong response is given, and a wrong response can be anything from no response to an aggressive response.

However, if you have come to this page looking for a safe, humane, effective Horsemanship School that will nurture you into becoming a true horseman, then you are on your way. Learning how to be a thinking horseman through an understanding of how the horse works is what we teach.  If you want to learn why pain, force and compulsion do not work, you are on your way. If you want to learn why spoiling and tip toeing around a 1200 pound animal does not work, then you are on your way. If you want to learn horse training that uses techniques that are only as limited as your imagination, then you are on your way.  If you want to be flexible and adaptable to training situations and not limited to a handful of techniques, you have come to the right place. If you are willing to put forth the effort to learn horsemanship that is safe, humane, effective and based on theory, you will reap the rewards of a controlled energetic athlete willing to do his very best at your subtlest request.

Horsemen who have gone through these other Natural Horsemanship programs have  realized the problems with these cookbook horse training methods and have turned to Falisi  Horsemanship. They have come to realize that true horsemanship must be based on theories developed from concrete subjects such as:

Anatomy – The physical structure of both horse and human and their relationship with each other

Kinesiology – The mechanics of motion with respect to anatomy - both horse and human

Physics – Energy, force, motion and the way they relate to each other

Animal Behavior/Psychology – The mental states and temperament of the horse and their associated behavior
